I've started Jaime's first official school year this month. I'm doing a mix of some School zone books, Abeka, & random other things. Her writing is still in the begining stages, but she has very good comprehension so she can learn from the stuff I tailor more to Alice & her 1st gradebooks. Since she can already read pretty much anything I don't have to focus so much on that, so I can really tune into other things like math, science & fun stuff. I'm still trying to find a balance between expecting too much from her & giving her brain enough challenge. I'm soooo thankful to be with Maria & have her help & input. It's also cool to go out with Chad & Maria on family days, it's Jaime's weekly highlight, & I'm late for my kids shift so I'm off & the ramblings will end here. random pics to follow
Alice & Jaime have got to be some of the cooookiest cousins ever. They're so sweet & loving, but other times evil ( well, that would be mainly Jaime who probably inherited some of my rather Cruela blood) to each other, but they do come up with some of the cutest things. Jaime this morning running around naked," Look Mom, I'm in the natural way."
Chad was trying to explain the word optomistic to them. Chad,"See guys it's like if someone is whinning say 'Thank You Jesus they'll be happy soon." Alice,"Or only murmuring when they're being whinny & happy when they stop." Jaime,"Or saying Thank You Jesus that they're whinning." Good luck with that Chad.
If you're wondering about the odd pics, we had a photo shoot today which included wearing my clothes & make-up. Of course Jaime had to wear the shirt Alice was wearing too, cuz she loves Alice to death & is the world's biggest copy cat. They're really the cutest things ever & I love being with them, now to find my asprin & see how much lipstick they've eaten.
Since Maria has been gone to some meetings somewhere, I've been spending extra quality time with the kids. Meaning pizza, face painting, multiple baking projects, making castles, painting, school, word, get out, & so on. Yesterday Bowen told me I was his favorite because we would do lots of 'crazy & yummy things.' Although I don't think I've gotten to the point where I can be with for endless hours upon endless days, without going nuts, I love them so much (especially when they're not trying to poke each others eyes out or see if the red paint tastes like strawberries.)
just a random post while i sit here putting Jaime to sleep. took some pics today after i came home from not watching for the sun. Apparently Bob the tomato look is out although the sun seems not to think so. I had a great day.... went out to the gas station to do some good old cd carding. got hit on by waaaaaay too many creepy mexicans, but did get to practice my terrible spanish & made a good amount of cash. The Lord always seems to come through for me when I haven't the slightest clue wtf I'm doing. Last weekend when I went to Laredo for fundraising I was as lost as stevie wonder in a bouncy castle of how to do restaurant ballooning, but the Lord helped me do waaaaay better than i ever thought i would. I love that when you find sweet ppl here they are soooo sweet & the creepy ones aren't too bright so they're easy to split from after they've handed you that 200 pesos, haha, really, I'm really enjoying myself here & really do love this home. It's cool to get to know my brother & although he always gave me the tough guy brother thing when i was younger, now he's always there to help me & asking me how I'm feeling, doing sweet things for me & so on. the other day he gave me a hug for no reason at all! Chad, if you ever read this, I love you more than ever & I'm soooo lucky to have you as my older brother. Thanks for being there when I needed someone to pull me out of the hole i dug myself, really I'd do anything for you.
